Annie Lennox and Scottish Parliament Presiding Officer, Alex Fergusson, speak on their recent visit to Malawi at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association EGM in March.

Annie visited the African country as special envoy to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Scotland Branch (CPASB).

She was accompanied on last month’s trip by Presiding Officer Alex Fergusson to develop and enhance Scotland’s ongoing links with Malawi.

Annie talked about their visits to the areas of Lilongwe and Blantyre and their meetings with politicians and members of the National Assembly of Malawi’s Women’s Caucus.

Annie said about her trip: “My recent visit to Malawi was both inspiring and encouraging, despite the fact that there are still so many challenges to be faced.”
