Annie Lennox joined Johnnie Walker in the BBC Radio 2 Studio to talk about the 1970’s. Annie talks about her education and her path to music, her early relationship with Dave and how she helped him recover from an accident by making a lot of soup and of course The Tourists.

Singer, songwriter, campaigner and activist Annie Lennox also recalls her memories of the decade. She began her 70s at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she studied the flute and classical music for three years before becoming leader singer with The Tourists in 1977.
Annie first collaborated with Dave Stewart in The Tourists, the musician with whom she would form Eurythmics. This seminal 80s band became a springboard for Lennox’s future success, including eight BRIT Awards [the most of any female artist]. She remembers the early days of her career and the 70s music that influenced her.
