Sunderland’s very own Dave Stewart is set to return to his home town next month for performance at the Sunderland Empire.

Dave, one half of legendary music duo the Eurythmics, will be at the Empire to showcase songs from his new solo album.

The award-winning song writer will take to the stage this September to perform songs from his current Blackbird Diaries record and his forthcoming Ringmaster General album.

Black Cats fan Dave, who was born in High Barnes, has sold over 100 million albums in a career spanning over 40 years.

He has also produced albums and co-written songs for Bono, Bryan Ferry, Gwen Stefani, Tom Petty, Katy Perry, Mick Jagger, Sinead O’Connor and many more.

To celebrate the release of his new solo album, Dave will perform four shows throughout the UK, kicking off with a special homecoming show at the Empire on 3 September.
