This weeks rare record of the week is the gatefold promotional 12″ single for Eurythmics Never Gonna Cry Again.
The sleeve is a paper sleeve that folds out and as you can see from the pictures, has the contact details from the record company printed on the flap. For many years collectors believed there to be a gatefold version of this single, after it appeared in a Record Collector feature, but we all believe now that it refers to this promotional single.
This comes up for sale very rarely because of its scarcity, and prices in the range of £75 – £150 are not uncommon. I also believe, but never had confirmed that there was probably some form of press kit enclosed with the original singles. If you know or can confirm this, let me know!
