The support for the work that Cash for Kids does for vulnerable children in the west of Scotland attracts some of the biggest names in music and only last month one of the biggest names around stepped up to her piano and performed a sensational solo performance all in aid of Cash for Kids.

Annie Lennox, one of the finest and most outstanding musical voices of our time, put on a breath-taking performance for guests at our Autumn Ball at Glasgow’s Hilton hotel and helped raise £352,000, a record amount at any Cash for Kids Ball.

The Autumn Ball was sponsored by another fantastic supporter of Cash for Kids, fashion retailer Cruise, which is celebrating its 30th year of trading this year.

Items auctioned at the event included a set of exclusive limited edition celebrity designed t-shirts from Annie Lennox’s daughter Tali Lennox, Ant & Dec, Robert Carlyle, Paolo Nutini, Sharleen Spiteri, Lorraine Kelly and Michelle Mone.

Lord McConnell, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Cash for Kids charity said: “Annie’s generosity in agreeing to perform was reflected in the compassion shown by everyone who attended the event and who helped raise such a significant amount for Cash for Kids. The money will go directly and quickly to support thousands of vulnerable children in the west of Scotland.

Annie’s work as a charity campaigner is known across the world and we can’t thank her enough for giving up her valuable time to support the essential work of Cash for Kids. It was an honour to welcome her and an honour to listen to her wonderful and unforgettable voice.
