Jaki Liebezeit sadly died yesterday at the age of 78.  He was one of the founders of krautrock band Can but after they stopped performing he went on to collaborate with artists such as Depeche Mode, Brian Eno and of course Eurythmics.

Jaki takes his place on the credits of the debut Eurythmics album In The Garden released in 1982.

His credits on the album are as follows:

  • Your Time Will Come (Brass)
  • Heartbeat Heartbeat (Brass)
  • Take Me To Your Heart (Drums)
  • Never Gonna Cry Again (Drums)
  • All The Young (People Of Today) (Drums)
  • Le Sinistre (Drums)

The official Can Facebook page made the announcement

“It is with great sadness we have to announce that Jaki passed away this morning from sudden pneumonia. He fell asleep peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. We will miss him hugely.”
