Last night on the Voice in the UK, Karl Michael sang No More I Love You’s by Annie Lennox (*) The start was off while he found his feet and his nerve but once he hit the chorus, the coaches couldn’t buzz fast enough.

Sir Tom Jones said, “You have a voice that is different. It’s not like you’re trying to copy anyone else.”

Will.i.am was gushing. “Your voice is amazing. The reason I turned around was because I could imagine what was happening, I could see you walking on stage and getting your key. I thought to myself, this guy is really serious.”

But it was Danny O’Donoghue who landed the biggest talent of the night. “I’m excited about Karl. I think it comes down to the hardships you’ve had… that kid is special.”

(*) The song No More I Love You’s was made famous by Annie Lennox as a single from her album Medusa, however it was originally written by a band called The Lover Speaks who toured with Eurythmics in 1986.
