“Belinda”

(Eurythmics)

Dry your tears

Close your eyes

The rain comes down… a girl hesitates about her lover: “Belinda, your mind is dreaming; Belinda, it’s so misleading”. As water comes down ceaseless from the sky, uncontrolled tears fall from her eyes. And without a real reason: “Belinda, he’d never leave you; Belinda he won’t deceive you”. But as soon as the rain will stop, Belinda (though still unsure) will calm down: “Belinda, your eyes have spoken; Belinda, your heart is broken.”

“Belinda” was released in 1981 as the second and last single from In the Garden, Eurythmics’ debut album.
