Over the last few weeks on Scottish TV, Clare Grogan (Altered Images) has been introducing 15 tracks from each of the last 4 decades with 3 tracks from each to be selected by public vote to go onto the album that will be entitled Scotlands Greatest Album.

In the 1980’s show, Eurythmics Sweet Dreams is the obvious track, but the judging panel deliberated over Love Is A Stranger before selecting Sweet Dreams.  The feature also included an interview with Fairground Attraction and previous Eurythmics band member Eddie Reader.  Eurythmics are up against some strong competition,

The Associates – Party Fears Two

Simple Minds – Waterfront

Orange Juice – Rip It Up

The Proclaimers – Sunshine On Leith

Jesus And Mary Chain – Just Like Honey

Big Country – Fields Of Fire

Hue And Cry – Labour Of Love

Deacon Blue – Dignity

Aztec Camera – Oblivious

Danny Wilson – Marys Prayer

The Bluebells – Young At Heart

Lloyd Cole – Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken

Bronski Beat – Small Town Boy

The Blue Nile – Tinseltown In The Rain

Voting has now closed for the 1980’s show and the results will be revealed soon.
