“I Want It All”

(Eurythmics)

Gimme gimme some more

Of the same old stuff

It don’t make me happy

And it’s ever enough

An uncontrollable desire, a need that must be satisfied as soon as possible even though its nature is unknown: “I want it all, I want it all; I don’t know what it is, but I want it all”.

But sometimes even if the longing is fulfilled, happiness is far away; maybe it’s time to deconstruct some aspects of our personality and show our real core: “Peel back my skin, so that you can see what I really am, the true colour of me”.

“I Want It All” is the eight track on Peace (1999), Eurythmics’s most recent full length album.

Here’s the first ever live performance of the song at the Princes Trust Party In The Park concert in 1999
