3 Cities, 1 Year

After just 354 days and 359 performances today, March 15th sees Ghost the Musical land on Broadway and open up this amazing show to American believers.

Ghost is one, if not the fastest major musical to transfer to The Great White Way after only having its World Premiere in Manchester on the 28th March 2011.  Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Miss Saigon all took around 2 years to venture over to Broadway.

Ghost has many celebrity believers with Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber describing the show as ‘a heartbeat away from the best musical of the last 20 years’ and Teller from magic gods Penn & Teller said ‘As well-versed as I am in optical principles, loads of the conjuring fooled me, indeed took my breath away.  I think ‘Ghost’ will run forever on Broadway.’ And Dame Judy Dench commented ‘I was absolutely enchanted by the magic of Ghost. Simply sensational.’

The entire creative team from the UK have been over on Broadway since late January rehearsing the show with an exceptionally talented cast headed up by the original Sam and Molly, Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy.  Both created the stage roles in this 21st century version of Ghost and I know Broadway is going to embrace them as the UK believers did.  Accompanying them on stage tonight will be Da’Vine Joy Randolph as Oda Mae Brown who wowed audiences in December and January when she stepped onto the London stage replacing an injured Sharon D Clarke at short notice.  Completing the leads as the nice guy turned bad, Carl Bruner is Bryce Pinkham.

Ghost on Broadway promises to be even more spectacular than the London production with a larger cast and orchestra.  A number of the illusions seen in the UK have been enhanced as well as 1 or 2 new additions to ensure you leave the theatre scratching your head, wondering exactly how they made it happen.  The other major changes to the show are a couple of new songs.  Whilst we can’t say exactly what these songs are yet or where they come in the show, we can safely say one will be a whole new ‘ball of wax’!

Ghost’s number 1 fan will have all the news and reactions from the 1st night via twitter @ghostmusicalfan so follow him there and keep right up to date with all the latest news as it happens!

On behalf of all at eurythmics-ultimate.com we want to wish all the cast and crew ‘break a leg’ for their 1st night and for each and every one after that.

Believe!
