Eurythmics star Dave Stewart is the latest famous face from the world of music to put his weight behind the campaign to get Gladesmore School’s ‘Everybody Dreams’ song for Tottenham to the top of the charts this summer.

The former Eurythmics star was so moved by their attempt to show the positive side of Tottenham with their song Everybody Dreams that he put aside his musical projects in Hollywood to create a Radio Mix of the track.

Lead vocalist on the song Vivian Reis 15 said: “Wow! I had to pick myself up off the floor when I heard what he had done to our song. Mr Stewart is a musical genius. I know his musical magic is going to elevate our track to the top of the charts.”

Lethaniel Stewart, 12 added: “I had to Wikipedia Mr Dave and ask my dad about him. He couldn’t stop jumping up and down when I told him he had done a mix of our song. He kept saying ‘Oh My God! The Dave Stewart. Not The Dave Stewart’. I guess he must be brilliant because my dad is really fussy when it comes to music and of course, he’s a Stewart like me!”

Gladesmore Music Teacher and Musical Director for the project Ty Lowe added: “This is just amazing. I have followed Dave since I was a kid and I am a true Eurythmics, Shakespeare Sister and SuperHeavy fan. So this news is not just exciting for the kids but a dream come true for me!”

“Stewart’s involvement in the project is a great boost for our campaign Everybody Dreams. He has connections with Haringey when he set up a recording studio in the Old Church in Crouch Hill in the 1990’s. He knows Tottenham and truly understands what the children are trying to do with this song. The whole school community are humbled by his generosity and embrace his love and support,” said Gladesmore’s Headteacher Tony Hartney.

Stewart will fly into London from Hollywood on Monday and has invited the students to perform with him on Tuesday 24th July at a special event in London’s West End.

Stewart’s backing follows the public endorsement from Mayor of London Boris Johnson early this month. He was overwhelmed when he heard Gladesmore Community school’s song for Tottenham and declared “the BBC should use it as their soundtrack for their Olympic coverage.” He also stated that he had “never seen so much talent in one school” and that “everyone should rally round and get the song ‘EVERYBODY DREAMS’ to Number 1 in the National Music Charts.”

We’ve also declared our full backing and support for the song last week by putting the kids’ promotional video on their official website and Facebook page. Andre Villas-Boas and first team players have also been photographed with the Everybody Dreams song sign as a show of support.

Gladesmore’s Song for Tottenham also has the support and backing of hundreds of celebrities and music and television personalities including Ricky Gervais, Alan Carr, Ed Sheeran, Leona Lewis, Jessie J, Tinie Tempah, Marvin and Aston from JLS, Wretch 32, Chip and Rizzle Kicks along with businesses, retailers, and members of the local community, Haringey Council, local MP David Lammy and Education Secretary Michael Gove MP.

Over 100 students have contributed to the writing of the track or have sung on the single EVERYBODY DREAMS. They were concerned by the negative images of Tottenham that dominated the National and International news last Summer and felt compelled to do something about this. They decided to create a campaign that would show the positive side to Tottenham, the place they live, learn and love.
