  1. London Dada

Shades of Grey – the tome a million ladies itched to read yet when hubby suggests bedroom bondage turn on the prude act lol

  2. Paul Forster

ooh brilliant ! that could be a massive soundtrack as film very hyped !

  3. Kaz Green

    awesome. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Erin Malloy

Too young to remember Savage, I guess?

  5. Sue Mullen

Great… should get a lot of attention!! The movie has a big publicity campaign… P.S. I read the book and thought it was boring!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Sue Mullen

Should be good!! Lots of attention and exposure… ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Steve Gayler

It’s the lead track as well, well at the moment at least!

  8. Christian Gerard

That is awesome because it will reach TONS of people! Great news!

  9. Pablo Boggiano

Great news!!! jejej Annie the best

  10. Chris Nelson

There are so many little gems on the CD. I am kind of surprised they picked “Spell.” Nice to see her work recognized though!

  11. Don Levy

I have to get this cd.

  12. sheila coslan

I love the song , Put a spell on you! Classic!

  13. Martin Cooper

Agree with Peter, that’s not the sort of place her music should be promoted. Nothing to been a prude but I think it’s just tacky as well.

I’m sure there are better means to get her music promoted then with this sort of trashy film. What has happened to the sort of quality control she once had with what or how she advertised her music or is it just down to the record company who decides what now happens?

  14. Steve Gayler

We haven’t seen the music in context yet, could be the best part of the film! Tacky or not, the music will reach an audience not yet familiar with Nostalgia and that is no bad thing.

  15. Martin Cooper

Steve, I think if it was attached to something which was of better quality, I would maybe agree with you. I agree mass market exposure is good but not attached to something like this from an artist like Annie.

  16. Mark Stevens

I think some of you are overthinking this. It’s not like “Into the West” that was written FOR a movie. This is music IN a movie. Big difference. Annie’s music has been in loads of movies, and certainly most of them not Oscar-worthy. That it’s the first track indicates to me that it may be played during the opening credits, which would mean massive exposure. This is nothing but a very good thing. The book was absolute trash, but, for whatever reason, it was a gigantic hit. The anticipation for the movie, I’m sure, is on par with the book’s popularity.

  17. Martin Cooper

Mark, good point in ‘over thinking’ part, as it is really bothering me. I know I sound like a ‘grumpy old git’ but take your points on board. Maybe it’s just the issue the book is trash that I’m not happy with this promotion.

  18. Kaz Green

who was it who said “there is no such thing as bad publicity”. ๐Ÿ˜‰ The majority of people going to see this film will be women, because they read the books…and I think they will be very likely to go and buy Nostalgia on the back of this, to check it out. Goodo. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Erin Malloy

I’m with Martin-she didn’t pen this song, which could be how it slipped in. She doesn’t own the rights to it…and I’m not convinced she’d want to be connected to this sleazo movie.

  20. Sue Mullen

I agree with Steve Gayler… wait till we see how the song is used… and Nostalgia will get noticed!! I think it is one of Annie’s best albums in a long while!!

  21. Paul Forster

Gosh fans are a funny lot….

  22. Steve Gayler

Don’t forget Striptease included “Cold” and “Money Can’t Buy It” and that wasn’t exactly the most thought provoking of films!

  23. Erin Malloy

…and the worst part was her name was ERIN…yeah. Thanks to whomever came up with that one :/

  24. Debbie Harrington

Remember This City Never Sleeps being featured in Nine and a Half Weeks? Similar kinds of movies I think. Neither will make the IMDb top 250 but loads of people see them and remember the soundtrack.

  25. Mike Wilson

Exactly what I was just thinking Debbie Harrington ๐Ÿ™‚

  26. Carmen Silvestre

Yes, Steve Gayler I thought exactly that, at this very moment.

  27. Mark Stevens

So it seems Annie is involved, after all, if there is a “Fifty Shades” version.

  28. Mark Stevens

The length is shorter, and it does seem to have a slightly different tempo with the music.

  29. Erin Malloy

EEEK! The original way way better…this is too fast and seems to be missing some of those vocal nuances that made the original so…um…sexy…Nope. This one just whacks you over the head.

  30. Debbie Harrington

Well I like it fast……call me a slut lol x

  31. Erin Malloy

As long as there’s no one named Erin shaking her cakes for Burt Reynolds to Sweet Dreams, I’m good ๐Ÿ˜€ I guess my puzzlement is that the original version was already perfect as is. Why in the heck mess with perfection? Meanwhile, fyi, when this junk lands in Redbox, all the single serve ice cream pints will be gone from the freezer that week-something about single women stuffing themselves with Ben and Jerry’s to their soft core porn
