London’s home away from home for creative industries, The Hospital Club, announced the global expansion of its network to Los Angeles with the addition of h.Club LA. Set to open in early 2018, h.Club LA is a dedicated space for artists, entrepreneurs and innovators to connect, create and collaborate.

Founded in 2004 by philanthropist and entrepreneur, Paul G. Allen in London, England in what was once a derelict hospital, The Hospital Club has developed a strong reputation for working with and supporting the city’s flourishing creative talent. Its expansion to Los Angeles, its first U.S. destination, will build on this, giving members access to an international network of creatives. h.Club LA will be situated on Hollywood’s iconic corner of Hollywood and Vine, where after a renovation, it will occupy the current site of The Redbury Hollywood.

“LA’s position as a hub of art, culture and creativity makes it the ideal location for the h.Club’s first global extension,” said Paul Allen. “The Hospital Club is a place where innovators from across the creative disciplines come together to collaborate, push boundaries and cultivate big ideas. h.Club LA will continue this legacy, bringing together a unique location and a truly special experience to the LA community.”

h.Club LA will offer members a similar experience to its popular club in London along with new locally relevant features.  Inspired by the Modern Grand Tour of Europe, h.Club LA will encompass five floors of spaces designed to host and showcase creativity. Three different areas for dining will feature sustainable and locally sourced ingredients. An elegant rooftop restaurant will have views across Hollywood and lead onto a desert garden inspired by the English gardens of film maker Derek Jarman. Additional amenities include an outdoor pool deck, relaxing tea room, stylish bars, gym and wellness facilities, creative co-working spaces, music studio, screening room and live performance space for members and guests to enjoy. Original works by local and international artists from the h.Club Art Program have been curated for the 36 bedrooms in addition to the main club spaces.

h.Club LA will offer a diverse members’ program including, intimate musical performances, film screenings, album launches, exhibitions, book readings and inspiring debates.  With such amenities and programming h.Club LA will provide unparalleled opportunities for artists and performers to collaborate and showcase their works.  Additionally, the h.Club’s unique philanthropic arm – the h.Club Foundation – will be an integral part of h.Club LA’s investment in the local community. In support of this commitment, a percentage of each member’s joining fee will go towards the Foundation’s work, enabling members to invest in youth projects and emerging talent in the local area. The h.Club Foundation makes the h.Club the only private members club to actively invest in supporting access to work and education in its local community.

“The opening of h.Club in Los Angeles – in the heart of Hollywood – positions it to become part of the soul of a vibrant, artistic and entrepreneurial city,” said Kerry Morrison, Executive Director of the Hollywood Entertainment District.  “It is a nexus of the media, technology and music industries and here, h.Club members will find a place where their creative expression is celebrated.”
