Annie Lennox appears on Good Morning Britain with Dr Helen Pankhurst to talk about International Womens Day

Annie Lennox appeared on Good Morning Britain this morning alongside Dr Helen Pankhurst.

One of the messages coming out of International Womens Day is that men between 25 – 34 are just as likely to be a feminist as women are.

Annie and Helen also discussed the difficulty that many people still have with the word Feminism. Presenter Piers Morgan decribed himself as a faminist, but challenged the impact that Madonna and Kim Kardashian have on the good work that activists like Annie and Helen do.

Annie Lennox has just performed for Sting at the Polar Music Prize awards ceremony where he is being honoured as one of the 2017 Laureates.

Annie spoke about hiding in the corridors to make her performance a surprise for him. You can see Sting is visibally moved by Annie’s appearance.

She performed Fragile taken from Sting’s Grammy winning album Nothing Like The Sun and can be seen in the video below.

    I don’t know who Piers Morgan is, but I find it interesting at the very least how you people pinpoint the negative aspects of a completely positive (albeit realistic) outlook on these tense matters. (It’s dog eat dog, the human race / The only thing they’ll do is hate you, hate you…)
